I recently got the opportunity to sample a new kind of spirit from an up and coming craft distillery. I was immediately drawn to the unique shape and design of the bottle that was almost reminiscent of an ugly sweater. The packaging alone was enough to make me interested in trying it and once I popped the cork and had a taste, I wasn’t disappointed.The taste was pleasantly sweet with a hint of caramel leading into a robust and complex flavor that finished with a slight warmth. I was surprised by the depth and complexity of the flavor but the sweetness kept it from being too overpowering. It was smooth and textured with a complexity that enhances the overall flavor profile.The aroma was also unique and inviting. A hint of oak, spices, and a hint of citrus alongside an inviting warm sweetness. The pour was smooth and easy with no overpowering alcohol burn. I was really impressed with the character of the liquid and could taste the passion behind every sip.
